The exact facts, in one place. Everything else in this library links here rather than repeating it. Pages marked generated are produced from the code of the running system by a script, so they cannot say what the system does not do.

Who can do what

  • Who can and cannot: the rules in force. How a request is checked, the rules about people, acts and the study's state, and who can do each key action.
  • Roles and permissions (generated): the 15 standard roles and 68 permissions, with where each is held, its risk, its rules and who holds it.
  • Screens and who sees them (generated): every screen, the permission it needs and which roles see it.

What the system calls things

  • Statuses: every state machine: studies, versions, sites, participants, visits, forms, records, queries, deviations, events, documents, exports, verification, team assignments, delegations and rules.
  • Audit events (generated): every event type the audit trail holds, what it records and where it is written.
  • Error messages (generated): every error code, what it means and what to do.
  • API reference (generated): every operation of the API, who may call it, in which workspace and study state.

Settings and behaviors

  • Settings: your settings, Study Settings (kept in the version being built) and what is not a setting.
  • Rules reference: cross-form rules: types, triggers, actions and which of them actually run.
  • Exports reference: formats, datasets, parts and their limits.
  • Documents reference: document types, versions and the file checks.
  • Notifications: every e-mail the system sends and what it shows in the bell. It is a short list.
  • Forms reference: field types, validation and clinical settings of the form builder. This page is being replaced by the Form builder section.
  • Configuration (generated): every environment variable of the three services.
